Man Pleads Guilty To Rape, Assault In Stabbing
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A Glen Burnie man has pleaded guilty to raping and assaulting a woman in his apartment.
Shane Lee Miller, 37, entered the plea Friday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. He will be sentenced on Jan. 15.
According to court documents, Miller called the woman on Dec. 4 and asked her for a ride to a doctor's appointment. The Capital of Annapolis reports that prosecutors say when the woman got to Miller's apartment, he stabbed her several times in the back with a kitchen knife and raped her.
Prosecutors say Miller then forced the woman into her car and drove to an ATM, then to a grocery. It was there, authorities say, that the woman was able to alert the staff, who called police.
