Man Pleads Guilty To Allowing Teens To Drink At Home
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A man has pleaded guilty after being accused of allowing teens to drink alcohol, resulting in a deadly crash.
On Thursday, 49-year-old Kenneth Saltzman pleaded guilty to two counts of allowing underage drinking at his North Potomac home during a party in late June.
Police say two high school graduates were killed in a fatal car crash after leaving the party. Eighteen-year-old Alex Murk and 18-year-old Calvin Li died while two others were seriously hurt after their car crashed into a tree.
The driver, Sam Ellis, was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Court records show the judge gave Saltzman the maximum penalty, a $2,500 fine for each death.
