Man Pleads Guilty In Cecil County Slaying
ELKTON, Md. (AP) -- One of two people charged in the killing of a 71-year-old Cecil County man has pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree murder.
John Wayne Davis, who was scheduled to stand trial on July 5, admitted his role Friday in the December death of John R. Fleming. He pleaded guilty to murder in exchange for prosecutors dropping multiple other charges against him.
He faces life in prison at his sentencing in August.
Authorities say Davis, 31, and co-defendant Lillian Jean Jacobs killed Fleming during a robbery. Police say they found blood stains on the couple's clothing.
Jacobs is scheduled for trial on July 18 on murder and other charges.
