Man Indicted For Marijuana In Home

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- A Howard County grand jury has indicted a man who was arrested when authorities found marijuana plants in his home after a car crashed into it.

Richard Marriott, 44, was indicted Thursday after being charged by police with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug production equipment.

The accident happened Dec. 10 when Bryan Bolster lost control of the BMW he was driving and crashed into Marriott's home. Bolster died at the scene.

After emergency workers found the plants, as well as hydroponic and lighting equipment used for what police determined was a growing operation, a search warrant was obtained. Officers also found some smaller plants.
