Man Gets 6 Months For Drunken-Driving Death

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A Thurmont man is spending six months in jail for the drunken-driving death of his friend.

Cody Hahn, 22, was sentenced Tuesday in Frederick. He was convicted in May of negligent manslaughter in the death of Aaron Mack.

Hahn must spend another six months on home detention after his release. The court suspended the remainder of a 10-year prison sentence.

Mack, 22, was a passenger in Hahn's Chevrolet Cobalt in July 2010 when Hahn he lost control of the vehicle at nearly 100 mph. The car broke a utility pole, hit another vehicle, overturned and took out a porch.

Police say Hahn had a blood-alcohol content of at least 0.21. That's more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
