Man Fires Gun Into Air And Gets Jail Time
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A man who fired shots into the air at his home last year has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.
Jose Acevedo, 42, of Taneytown was in Carroll County Circuit Court this week.
He was convicted of second-degree assault in July. The Carroll County Times reports that Acevedo was arrested Dec. 10 after a standoff at his home.
Taneytown police officers were called after a report of shots being fired, and one officer was hit by a plastic piece of one of the shotgun shells Acevedo was firing into the air.
