Man Dies At Baltimore's Central Booking
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland corrections officials are investigating the death of a man who was being held at Baltimore's booking center.
The Baltimore Sun reports that Keith Johnson,50, died Friday night at Baltimore's Central Booking and Intake Center. Foul play is not suspected in his death.
Johnson was being held on drug charges. Corrections spokesman Mark Vernarelli says Johnson had been seen by medical staff and had returned to a holding cell when he asked to see medical staff again.
Vernarelli says Johnson then collapsed when he stepped into the hallway. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he died.
