Man Dead After Motorcycle Hits Box Truck
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A 27-year-old La Plata man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a box truck.
Police in Anne Arundel County say they were dispatched Saturday at 5:40 a.m. to Maryland Route 100 near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Police say witnesses reported the motorcycle, driven by James Garrett Henderson, was traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. The motorcycle changed lanes and struck the rear of the box truck. Officials transported Henderson to a hospital where he died.
Police say a preliminary investigation shows that speed is a contributing factor in the collision.
The driver of the box truck, 55-year-old William Ramierz of Germantown, and his passenger were not injured.
