Man Charged With Shaking 6-Week-Old Daughter To Death
ELKRIDGE, Md. (WJZ)-- Howard County police have charged an Elkridge man with shaking his 6-week-old daughter to death.
Aron James Krampf, 26, was charged Wednesday night with first- and second-degree assault, child abuse and reckless endangerment. Murder charges are expected when the case goes before a grand jury later this month.
Police and paramedics were called to Krampf's home around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unconscious infant who was not breathing.
The baby, Krampf's daughter, was transported to Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital. She died Thursday morning.
Through investigation, police believe Krampf shook the baby to stop her from crying. The infant suffered numerous critical injuries, including brain hemorrhaging and fractures throughout her body.
Krampf is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
