Man Charged With Murder In Stabbing Death Of Roommate
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A man is charged with murder in the stabbing death of his roommate in Southwest Baltimore.
Police say 28-year-old Melvin Russell and his roommate got into a fight Monday in the 4900 block of Challedon Road. Both Russell and the 49-year-old victim were stabbed multiple times.
Russell was treated at an area hospital and released. The victim died despite medical efforts.
According to our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, Russell is the son of Lt. Col. Melvin Russell, a high-ranking Baltimore police commander.
The younger Russell is charged with first and second-degree murder, assault and weapons violations.
