Man Charged With Drug Possession And Intent To Distribute Heroin In Baltimore
TOWSON, Md. (WJZ)-- A Baltimore County court has charged a 30-year-old man for possessing 252 pieces of cocaine and heroin and intending to distribute the heroin in West Baltimore.
The Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City said that at 8:30 p.m. on April 11, 2011, Jermaine Stanley was with a group of men in the 1700-block of Ashburton Street, left the group and then went into a nearby alley. Police officers who observed Stanley, followed him into a wooded area and noticed him reaching under a board. As Stanley had his back to the officers, they shone a flashlight at him at which he dropped a clear plastic bag to the ground.
Police officers found 21 gelcaps of heroin in the bag, and 11 additional plastic bags with 175 gelcaps of heroin and 56 ziplock bags of cocaine.
Stanley faces a maximum of 40 years in prison.
