Man Charged With 2 Slayings Waives Extradition
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a man charged with fatally stabbing his grandparents has waived extradition from Virginia.
Deputies say 19-year-old Joseph William Minoglio did not fight a return to Maryland at a hearing Thursday in Montgomery General District Court in Christiansburg, Va.
Minoglio is charged with two counts each of first- and second-degree murder in the slayings of 84-year-old Joseph Michael Minoglio and 78-year-old Peggy Minoglio, both of Keedysville. The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that their bodies were found Saturday in the basement of their home. Both had been stabbed multiple times.
Police in Virginia arrested the younger Minoglio Sunday. He was driving his grandparents' car.
