Man Charged In Towson Student's Hit-And-Run Denied Bail, Family Gets Closure
TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — The man charged in the death of a Towson University student was denied bail in court Monday after his arrest over the weekend.
Police announced Sunday that 36-year-old man from Rosedale, identified as Man Bahadur Gurung, was charged in the hit-and-run death of Mzi Ncube.

Ncube was crossing Charles Street on December 8 when Gurung struck him and drove away, leaving him to die.
According to charging documents, the suspect believed he hit a deer and said he couldn't stop at the scene because of traffic behind him.
Police identified Gurung as the suspect from surveillance video from GBMC where the suspect was working before the crash.
Ncube was crossing North Charles St., south of Ruxton Ridge Rd. Saturday night when someone driving a truck hit him and kept going, leaving the young student lying the street only to get hit again.
"Just the sole fact that he could get hit once, you do nothing," said Mzi's sister, Zolani Ncube. "And, he gets hit twice, and all I kept thinking in my mind is, what was going on in the last few seconds of his life?"
Officers said the second driver stopped, called 911 and tried to help but it was too late.
Gurung is being held at the Baltimore County Department of Corrections on denied bail status. He did not have his bail review Monday as scheduled.
The court is securing a Nepali translator and the review is scheduled for Tuesday.
It's at least some closure for the Ncube family, who are still planning Mzi's funeral.

A Johns Hopkins Medicine instructor was killed. That driver, identified as Jason William Hines, of Towson, was arrested and charged Sunday as well.
