Man Charged In Killing Of Howard U. Student
MOUNT RAINIER, Md. (AP) -- A District of Columbia man has been arrested in the killing of a Howard University freshman.
Prince George's County police say they've arrested William Knight, 20, and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of Alonzo James Guyton.
Guyton was found shot just after midnight Tuesday in front of a Mount Rainier apartment building. He died at a hospital.
Captain Joe Hoffman says Knight was linked to the shooting through a handprint. He says a blue van reported by a witness to be at the scene of the shooting was involved soon after in a car accident in D.C. A handgun was found inside the van, and police determined the vehicle was stolen.
Detectives on Friday served an arrest warrant on Knight.
