Man Charged After Woman Is Attacked In Westminster
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- Westminster police have arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a woman on Pennsylvania Avenue.
It happened early Sunday. Police say the woman was walking on the street when a man asked if she'd like him to walk her home.
Police say she refused, and the man pulled her down and sexually assaulted her.
Officers say the woman was able to escape when she scratched the man's face.
Police have charged Stephen Simpkins, 40, of Westminster with attempted kidnapping, second-degree assault and third- and fourth-degree sexual offense.
