Man Arrested In Fatal Stabbing In Southeast D.C.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police say they've arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in southeast Washington.
Police say they were called Saturday around 2:15 a.m. to the 2500-block of Pomeroy Road for a report of a stabbing. Police who arrived on scene found a 26-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound. The woman, identified by police as India Chapple, was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police say they arrested Tracy Mathis, 30, on Saturday morning and charged him with second-degree murder while armed. Mathis did not appear to have a listed telephone number.
