Man Arrested After Bank Robbery In Frederick
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick police have arrested a Gaithersburg man after a bank was robbed at gunpoint.
Officers say on Wednesday, a masked man entered the Capital One bank on West 7th Street and displayed a handgun. Police say the man walked behind the teller's counter and removed cash from the drawer.
Authorities say the suspect fled in a pickup truck. No one was injured.
A vehicle matching the suspect's was found, and police also found discarded clothing worn by the bandit. A search of the area found a man matching the description of the suspect. A further search turned up the gun and money stolen from the bank.
Ashref Adii Bannaga, 31, is charged with armed robbery and other offenses.
