Man Arrested After Bank Employees Ignore His Note Demanding Money
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ)--A Halethrope man is arrested after his plan to rob a Glen Burnie bank failed. Police say the bank employees refused to hand over the cash.
It happened Thursday around 2 p.m. at the BB&T Bank located at 7381 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd in Glen Burnie.
Witnesses say 26-year-old Andrew Christopher Martin entered the bank and presented a note demanding money. When the employees declined Martin's request, he promptly fled the bank empty handed.
Patrol officers responded to the area and found Martin attempting to flee on a public bus.
Video evidence from the bank and witness identification confirmed Martin to be the suspect in the attempted robbery. Martin also admitted to committing this offense.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and related offenses.
