Man Admits To Carjacking Neighbor
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- A Frostburg man has pleaded guilty to carjacking his 71-year-old neighbor.
Jonathan Bittner, 29, entered the plea Monday.
The Cumberland Times-News reports that a judge revoked his bond. A sentencing date was not set.
The victim told police Bittner entered his home early April 28 and beat him about the face and head while demanding cash.
Police say Bittner then forced the man into the victim's car, got behind the wheel and crashed it on Interstate 68.
They say Bittner fled, leaving the victim to drive the disabled car to a Cumberland exit. He was found by a passer-by, bleeding and dressed only in his underwear and a T-shirt.
