Man Accused Of Throwing Live Power Line At Driver
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- A Washington lawyer is accused of throwing a live power line at another motorist during a road-rage incident in the wake of Hurricane Irene.
Montgomery County police say Richard Bialczak, 32, of College Park faces a variety of charges, including first-degree assault and reckless endangerment, after the incident on Sunday.
Police say Bialczak tailgated the car behind him until they reached a downed power line, which had been blown into the road by the storm. Police say the other driver, Derek Edwards, got out to warn Bialczak, who allegedly got out of his car and threatened Edwards.
Then, Bialczak allegedly rammed Edwards' car and finally grabbed the still-sparking power line and threw it toward the victim.
Bialczak's lawyer was not immediately available for comment Friday.
