Man Accused In Hagerstown Fire Surrenders
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The state fire marshal's office says a man sought in connection with a fire that destroyed a Hagerstown house has surrendered.
Authorities say Donathan Cooper, 57, turned himself in Tuesday afternoon. He is charged with arson, attempted murder and other offenses. He is being held without bond.
Officials say Cooper occasionally lived at the home on York Road that went up in flames on Dec. 3. It was listed as his address when he was charged in June with assault. Those charges were dismissed in September.
The fire marshal's office says two other occupants of the home escaped without injury.
Officials say Cooper set the fires inside the home after an argument.
