Man Accused In 2 Killings Convicted In Other Cases
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A man awaiting trial in the 2009 slayings of a nurse and her 20-year-old daughter has been convicted on 11 federal charges in other crimes.
Jason Thomas Scott, 28, of Upper Marlboro was convicted Monday after a three-week trial. He was convicted of carjacking, production of child pornography, theft and gun charges committed during a series of home invasions and burglaries. He will be sentenced Oct. 31.
Scott was indicted in July 2009 on two counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of Delores Dewitt and her daughter Ebony.
Their bodies were found in March 2009 in a burning car in Largo.
That trial is scheduled to begin in November.
