Loyola (Md.) Defeats Towson 75-57
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- J'hared Hall came off the bench to score 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Loyola (Md.) defeated Towson 75-57 on Saturday night.
In the 70th meeting between the local rivals, the Greyhounds (14-13) took a 14-2 lead in the first five minutes.
Shooting 53.6 percent from the floor in the first half (15 of 28), Loyola built a 40-22 lead at the break, the 18 points marking the Tigers' largest halftime deficit of the season.
The Greyhounds also had a 25-6 rebounding edge in the first half.
With 5:08 to play, Towson (4-23) got to 63-52 when Dre Conner made two free throws. Hall then drilled four consecutive 3-pointers in a 2:07 span to end the threat and send the Tigers to their 16th straight loss.
Robert Olson added 16 points for the Greyhounds, Shane Walker had 14, Erik Etherly 12 and Dylon Cormier 10.
Isaiah Philmore scored 20 to lead the Tigers.
