Second-ranked Maryland looks to stay unbeaten at home when it steps out of Big Ten play to face Division II Bowie State on Tuesday. The Terrapins are 13-0 at the Xfinity Center and are coming off a hard-fought 72-61 victory over No.16 Purdue to move within a half-game of third-ranked Iowa at the top of the conference standings.

Maryland has won 26 consecutive home games and will be heavily favored to extend its streak against the Bulldogs, whose campus is located a mere 13 miles from College Park. The Terrapins are riding a four-game winning streak and have held opponents to 65 points or fewer in their last three contests. "I've had really good defensive teams but we are playing at a level I don't know if I have seen as a head coach," Mark Turgeon told reporters. "It's a lot of fun sitting over there and you know you're going to get stops." Bowie State has won back-to-back games following a 73-68 victory over Lincoln (Pa.) and hopes to pick up what would be its biggest win in school history.

ABOUT BOWIE STATE (13-9, 6-6 CIAA): Senior forward Andre Jackson scored a career-high 21 points while Ahmaad Wilson added 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in the win over Lincoln. Enouma Ebinum flirted with a double-double by tallying eight points and 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who went 37-of-41 from the free throw line. "I thought we did a good job down the stretch attacking their defense which got us into the bonus," Bowie State head coach Darrell Brooks told reporters. "That allowed us free throw opportunities."

ABOUT MARYLAND (21-3, 10-2 Big Ten): Senior guard Rasheed Sulaimon racked up 21 points and a career-high 10 rebounds to record his first collegiate double-double in the win against Purdue. Robert Carter Jr. added 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field while Melo Trimble scored 10 of his 14 points from the foul line against the Boilermakers. Trimble is 21-of-24 from the free throw line in his last three games and the Terrapins are 19-1 when the sophomore point guard gets to the charity stripe at least seven times.
