Life Plus 20 Years For Man Who Killed Teen In 2011
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County man has been sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years for his role in a 2011 robbery and murder.
Kelvin Walker of Fort Washington was sentenced Wednesday morning in Prince George's County Circuit Court.
Walker, 23, was convicted in July of killing 17-year-old Justin Isaacs on the doorsteps of his home, then stealing a gold chain and money.
The gun had been stolen from the car of an off-duty police officer.
Prosecutors say Walker bragged to associates that he killed the teenager to prove that he was a killer.
Walker will have to serve at least 35 years before he becomes eligible for parole. Because of his life sentence, Maryland's governor would have to sign off on his release.
