Lane & Ramp Closures Expected As I-795 Resurfacing Project Begins
BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)-- Single and double lanes on I-795 will be closed in Baltimore County as the resurfacing project on the highway gets underway.
The $9.2 million project involves two concrete pavement repairs between I-695 and Owings Mills Boulevard. The State Highway Administration (SHA) says it will also upgrade traffic barriers, repair storm drain systems, resurface ramps at Owings Mills Boulevard interchange and install new pavement markings.
Due to the road work, there may be single lane closures on both directions of I-795 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Single and double lane closures can be expected Sunday through Thursday between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Starting Friday, one lane will be closed during the weekend on I-795 between 7 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. on Monday. Two lanes will be closed on the highway between 11 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, and between midnight on Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
Drivers can also expect interstate ramp closures and detours weeknights 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and weekends between 7 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday.
There will no lane closures due to construction on Memorial Day, Labor Day and Independence Day holidays.
Drivers can use Reisterstown Road (MD-140) as an alternate route during rush hour.
