Kolbe's NHL Playoff Recap 5-6-2013

Steve Kolbe is joined by Kevin Thomas & Andy Snakovsky to bring you the lastest on the NHL Playoffs.

In an exciting game the Pittsburgh Penguins took control back in their series with the Islanders beating them 5-4 in OT. Chris Kunitz led the way for the Penguins scoring twice including the game winner.

In another OT thriller the 8 seed Minnesota Wild got on the board with a 3-2 over the Blackhawks. Zach Parise got his first goal of the postseason and Jason Zucker ended it in OT.

Most of this series has been marred by the brutal hits and now several ejections. Game 3 between the Senators and Canadiens saw a combined 236 penalty minutes. Jean-Gabriel Pageau netted a hattrick and the Senators rolled to a 6-1 win and a 2-1 lead in the series.

In the most lopsided series of the first round San Jose took a commanding 3-0 lead in the series after beating Vancouver 5-2. Logan Couture and Patrick Marleau each had 2 goals for San Jose. Vancouver faces elimination tomorrow night in Game 4.
On tap for tonight:

The Caps travel to New York after a thrilling OT win in Game 2, looking to take a 3-0 in the series with New York. You can hear that game on our sister stations CBS Radio 1300 and HFS at 97.5.

Playoff hockey returns to the Air Canada Centre for the first time since 2004. Toronto is coming off a 4-2 win in Game 2 and look to take control in the series against Boston.

Game 4 tonight in Detroit sees the Ducks trying to take a 3-1 in their series against the Red Wings.
Some home cooking did the defending champs LA Kings right as they won Game 3 1-0. They still trial in the series with the Blues 2 games to 1.
