Kolbe's Recap 05-29-13

Well three quarters of the NHL Conference Finals have been set. The Bruins and Penguins will start their series on Saturday June 1st. And last night the LA Kings punched their ticket to round 3 with a 2-1 win over the San Jose Sharks. Justin Williams scored both goals for the Kings and the Sharks only managed a Dan Boyle goal in the 3rd period. Jonathan Quick made 25 saves on 26 shots, while Antti Niemi only faced 18 shots and only made 16 saves. This was the first series since the 2003 Stanley Cup finals where the home team won every game.

On Tap for Tonight:

We will see another game 7 for the right to advance to the Conference Finals in Chicago. The Red Wings travel to the Madhouse to take on the Blackhawks.  Jonathan Toews has 3 points in the last 2 games and is starting to turn his game up. For the Red Wings they have to stay out of the penalty box and play at even strength. A solid performance from Jimmy Howard wouldn't hurt the Red Wings either.

If the Blackhawks win the Western Conference finals will begin on Saturday in Chicago, and if the Red Wings win the WCF will start in Hollywood on Friday night.
