Keith Cavanaugh Talks Terps Basketball & Spring Football
Keith Cavanaugh from Terrapin Times joined Sports Rehab to talk about the start of Maryland Spring Football as well as the basketball recruitment of Diamond Stone.
As the basketball Terps are finishing up the regular season, Coach Mark Turgeon is already looking forward to next year. After the Rutgers game, Turgeon jumped on a plane and headed to Wisconsin to take a look a Diamond Stone who is rated as the #1 center recruit in the country. The Terps success has also sparked interest from local recruits. Although most of still early in their high school careers, Cavanaugh says there is plenty of early interest. "The Maryland brand is back strong and you're seeing that in local recruiting." said Cavanaugh. "Point guards are very interested in coming to College Park and that can attributed to Melo Trimble's success."
On the football front, Randy Edsall's guys are back on the field for Spring Drills. The big question is who will be the Quarterback now that CJ Brown will graduate. Baltimore's own Shane Cockerille is the starter in the spring and is looking good. "This is as good as I've seen Shane throw the ball." said Cavanaugh "He's a gun slinger but was pretty accurate in his first practice."
