Judge Dismisses Wrongful Termination Suit
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A lawsuit by Maryland's former top public defender, who sued the state for $1 million in a wrongful termination claim, has been dismissed.
Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Pamela White dismissed Nancy Forster's suit on Thursday, saying the disagreement between Forster and the Board of Trustees did not amount to a violation of a clear mandate of public policy.
Forster was fired from the 900-employee Office of the Public Defender in August 2009.
Her lawyer said an appeal will probably be filed in the next two weeks.
