Judge Sentences Keith Davis Jr. To 50 Years For Murder Of Pimlico Security Guard Kevin Jones
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A judge threw out the request for a new trial as the fourth murder trial for Keith Davis Jr. ends. He is sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Jurors in Davis' first and third trials failed to reach a verdict; jurors in the second trial found him guilty but a judge threw out the verdict because information about a key witness was not disclosed.
Davis was sentenced to 50 years for murder and a weapons charge.
"This is not gonna bring Kevin back, because if I could I would." said Gloria Hill.
The woman who raised Kevin Jones broke down knowing her son will never get to live up to the man she raised him to be.
"I raised him to be a man amongst man." Hill said.
But the family for defendant Keith Davis Jr. said Davis is not the gunman.
"Stop the charges, free Keith Davis." his wife Kelly Davis said.
On the morning of June 7, 2015, Jones was working security at the Pimlico race track. He was shot 11 times in the parking lot of where he worked.

Circumstantial evidence places Davis in the vicinity at the time of the shooting, but there is no DNA evidence to back him as the killer.
His wife said she knows he didn't pull the trigger.
"Because I was on the phone with him and that's details that are missing," Kelly Davis said.
In previous trials, prosecutors have come under scrutiny for questionable witnesses and withholding evidence from the defense team.
"Enough wrong was done in that courtroom, that Keith has appeals." Kelly Davis said.
While one family celebrates the end of a long road of pain and suffering, another gears up for another battle with the justice system.
"To me, today was another step in getting him home." Kelly Davis said.
