Beloved Catonsville Y Coach Jordan Taylor Among Victims Fatally Shot In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A beloved coach and mentor at the Y in Catonsville is among the recent victims of Baltimore City's deadly violence.
Jordan Taylor was shot and killed earlier this week at his home in west Baltimore.
Police were called to the 4800 block of Clifton Avenue around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they found Taylor, 31, with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
A neighbor told WJZ his security camera captured three men pacing outside of Taylor's home before they tried to enter.
"After 9 o'clock, three men, two in the back one in the front, attempted to enter their house," the neighbor said.
Those who knew Taylor said he was somewhat of a celebrity at the Y in Catonsville.
"We heard that kids even wanted to be Coach Jordan for Halloween."
"He'd walk by and they'd yell, 'Coach Jordan! And chase after him."
Police have not released any suspect information at this time.
The YMCA said that they will organize a vigil for Taylor in the coming days.
"We have lost a remarkable human being, a remarkable young man from the Y community and the greater community. It's a terrible loss."
