Johnny Holiday Takes A Look At Maryland's Road To The Final Four

Johnny Holiday, the play by play voice of the Maryland Terrapins, joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to look at the path Maryland will have to take to the Final Four. Coach Turgeon and the team looked as if they would advance to their first Big Ten Tournament Final in their inaugural season in their new conference. But they managed to lose a 16 point lead late in the semi-final and fall to the Spartans. Johnny recapped the tough loss. "If you've got a 16 point lead coached a team led by Tom Izzo, it means nothing. He has had such great success with his programs, and guys going to the hall of fame. And, just look at all of the wins he has racked up through the years."

The Terps have a sensational Freshman in Melo Trimble. Johnny believes that he is one of the more special players Maryland has seen over the years.  "You mentioned Melo Trimble. He's been an absolute delight to watch, and he's a better kid, and watching him on the floor, he reminds me a lot of Juan Dixon when it comes to loving the game, and going out and playing. You see him smile more on the floor than maybe anyone else out there among the players."

The contributions have come from more than just the big three of Wells, Layman, and Trimble. Johnny talked about one of his biggest contributors to the team. "Richaud Pack has really impressed me this year. He's a transfer in grad school, and all he does is settle things down every time he's on the floor, because he's one of the oldest players on the team, he's been there, and he just relishes the opportunity to settle things down when they get a little out of sync and they get a little bit excited and start to turn the ball over."
