Joe Beninati Says No Disrespect But The Blackhawks Are Not A Dynasty
Joe Beninati is the play by play voice of the Washington Capitals on Comcast Sportsnet.
Joe joined Ken and Steve to talk about the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and some Capitals off-season topics.
Joe started off by talking about whether or not the Blackhawks are a dynasty saying "No, UCLA Men's Basketball is a dynasty, Yankees in the 30's and 40's is a dynasty...Toews and Kane have 3 Cups which is just 1 less than Gretzky." Joe also talked about the Lightning in a losing effort saying "I think Tampa is incredibly well constructed and I expect them to be back next year." Joe also talked about whether or not NHL teams need to be more forthright with their injury reports saying "I think the NHL is more cryptic about hiding their injuries to avoid targeting by other players." As for the Capitals and how close they are to winning a cup Joe said "real close, I feel much better about this postseason then I did when the Caps blew a 3-1 lead as President's Trophy winners in 2010...it wasn't a lack of heart or being a team satisfied with what they've done a couple of bounces and that series changes." Joe also talked about what he thinks the Caps will do this off-season in free agency and in working towards keeping they're own players.
