Jimmy's Famous Seafood offers free meals to firefighters following deaths of two Baltimore City firefighters

BALTIMORE - Jimmy's Famous Seafood says it is giving firefighters free meals through October 29 in the wake of two Baltimore City firefighters dying after batting a rowhome fire in Northwest Baltimore.

Two firefighters died and three others were injured in a two-alarm fire on October 19 in the 5200 block of Linden Heights Avenue.

Rodney W. Pitts, EMT/firefighter of Engine Company #29, was taken to the hospital where he died. After nearly a week-long stay in the hospital, fire officials said Lt. Dillon Rinaldo, of Engine Company #46 died.

Pitts had been with the Baltimore City Fire Department for one year and graduated from the fire academy over the summer. Rinaldo was with the Baltimore City Fire Department for six years. 

"The Jimmy's Family is saddened by the tragic deaths of Dillon Rinaldo and Rodney Pitts," Jimmy's Famous Seafood said on X, formerly known as Twitter. "All firefighters will receive free meals at Jimmy's through October 29th."

Jimmy's Famous Seafood said it is planning a fundraiser for both of the fallen firefighters on November 19.

"We ask God to wrap His loving arms around their loved ones," Jimmy's Famous Seafood said.
