Baseball taking a look about trying to outlaw the shift because of the lack of run production…which is absolutely ridiculous. We are seeing the decline in offense, so why now outlaw it? With offense going down the pitching for the Major Leagues has gotten better, throwing at high speeds.
The trading deadline is coming up and Orioles have not done anything yet. The Colorado Rockies are looking at Kevin Gausman for Jorge De La Rosa. Good luck with that. Ian Kennedy has also been looked at. Whatever the Orioles are thinking, they are going to make one and they need an upgrade. Miguel Gonzales has also been up in the air to trade from the Orioles. Although Britton has been doing well, neither him or Ryan Webb may not be the answer for the Oriole, pitching wise. Orioles should probably look into a left handed pitcher. Some names thrown out there: Mike Dunn, from Miami Marlins, and Brad Ziegler, from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Whatever it is, a lefty would be great but the O's are not going to give up Gausman or Bundy.
Some thoughts on other teams and there trading, Yankees are looking at some starting pitching. They might be looking at Cliff Lee from the Philadelphia Philies. Yankees as well as Toronto are also looking at some starting pitching. For the Rays, as far as we know, they are holding out. Not quite sure what moves Tampa are going to do but they probably will not add a big piece. Orioles caught them at a good time.
