Jeremy Conn: Josh Hamilton To The Orioles?
I'm sure you have heard some of the reports about the Orioles being interested in Josh Hamilton and started to wonder if it was possible to see him in Orange and Black. I personally would love to see him come here and put that big left-handed bat right in the middle of the lineup. We have heard rumors like this in the past and none of them have come to fruition. Is there a player like Hamilton, that is actually interested in playing for the Orioles?
There are a few things that are troubling about Hamilton. First the rumor is he wants 25 million over 7 years, which is a ton to spend on one player. You have an injury history with Hamilton over the past few years that is cause for concern. Lastly, everyone will question his off the field issues. Clearly he has a troubled past with drugs and alcohol, but for the most part it seems he has straightened his life out. I've heard people say do you really want to bring a former drug addict to the city that's famous for the The Wire. If you are a drug addict, you will find drugs no matter where you are. Would you want the Orioles to make a run at him?
