Jeremy Conn: AL East...
We are so used to the AL East being a powerhouse division in baseball that it seems odd to see every team hovering around .500. Right now the Yankees are the only team above .500 and every single team has a negative run differential through the first month. Everyone except the Blue Jays have been snake bitten with a significant injury. The Yankees Have lost Nova for the year and Teixiera and Pineda have missed significant amount of time. The Red Sox just got back Shane Victorino and 3/5ths of the Rays staff has ended up on the DL, Including Matt Moore who is gone for the year.
The Orioles pitching has been just good enough to keep them at .500. Chris Davis just hit the DL and Manny Machado was just activated. Some fans are really upset that Steve Lombardozzi was sent down. Many believe that Jemile Weeks or Ryan Flaherty should have been sent down instead. I'm not the biggest Flaherty fan, but I trust Buck.
