Jen Royle: Duquette Makes First Slip-Up As Orioles' GM

Orioles manager Buck Showalter made it clear he thought Dan Duquette was the perfect man to take over for Andy MacPhail, president of baseball operations for a franchise that has suffered for 14 losing season. However, before Duquette was announced on Tuesday at Camden Yards, Showalter thought there was one thing missing.

Duquette took the podium wearing a bright orange as he stood before the Baltimore media, team officials and a large handful of Orioles and MASN employees. The tie was a gift from Showalter who told Duquette, "Wear this. It'll be a nice touch."

It was. But less than ten minutes into Duquette's opening speech, the new GM made his first mistake when he references his family and thanked them for being present and supportive at the event.

"I'm glad they're here today to share this new opportunity to build a perennial contending club here in Boston."

Boston.

Not Baltimore.

Boston.

What is your take on this? In my opinion, it was harmless and a simple mistake.
