Jeep Crashes Into Home & Catches Fire As Driver Attempts To Flee On Foot
NOTTINGHAM, Md. (WJZ)— A driver caught speeding in Baltimore County attempts to flee the scene on foot while the car--still in drive--crashes into a home and catches fire.
It happened just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday when a radar speed trap caught a Jeep going too fast in the 9100-block of Bel Air Road.
As an officer attempted to pull over the driver, the driver fled the scene on foot. The driver failed to put the car in park. The Jeep continued to cross all lanes of traffic and jumped a curb before crashing into a nearby home.
Fire officials were called to the scene because both the vehicle and the house caught on fire during the incident.
No one inside of the home was injured.
It is unclear why the driver took off on foot.
The suspect was captured about two blocks from the scene.
