Jarrettsville Sunflower Field Opens For Season
JARRETTSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- It's a sure sign of fall's pending arrival in Maryland!
The seasonal sunflower field in Jarrettsville opened Friday. The field is located at 3767 Norrisville Road in Jarrettsville Maryland.
It's $5 for each car or a $1 person to enter the fields. They are also selling fresh-picked sunflowers, food and more -- cash only!

The spot has become a draw for people in Harford County and beyond who love the bright yellow flowers or just want a perfect selfie or photo.
The fields are open to anyone from dawn until dusk, however, there are set times when you can enter the fields.
"You can visit anytime and take photos with friends and family but please do not pick any other sunflowers as they will be harvested by the farmer in a couple of months," the group said on their Facebook page.
Viewing schedule week of 9/22 and other information.
Sunday 9/22: designated viewing time 9 a.m. until dusk
Monday 9/23: General viewing
Tuesday 9/24: General viewing
Wednesday 9/25: Designated viewing time for senior citizens from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. -- all senior citizens are free during that time. The balance of the day will be designated viewing times for the general public.
Thursday 9/26: General viewing(also rain date for senior citizen viewing day)
They will be open on the weekend and we will post those hours in the middle of the week.
General viewing times means that you can visit the fields at anytime we just ask that you make a donation at our donation box at the entrance to the field to support our mission services.
Small pets are allowed on a leash.
The sunflowers could stay for two weeks or more!
