Jackson Scorches Drexel, UMBC Rolls In 2nd Half To 91-76 Win

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — K.J. Jackson scored 21 of his season-high 31 points in the second half and UMBC came from eight points down at the half to cruise past Drexel, 91-76 to cap a season-long three-game road trip Saturday afternoon.

The Retrievers shot 60 percent from the field in their last game, a win at Coppin State. Against the Dragons they shot 60.3 percent from the field for the game (35 of 58). Jackson got to the basket for eight layups in the second half.

Troy Harper dunked with three seconds left to send the Dragons to intermission with a 43-35 advantage, but UMBC's Max Curran hit back-to-back 3s to open the second half.

Jackson was 13 of 17 from the field, including 2 of 5 from beyond the 3-point arc. Joe Sherburne and Ricky Council II each added 11 points.

Troy Harper had 22 points for the Dragons. Trevor John and James Butler added 14 and 13 points, respectively, and the team collectively shot 50 percent from the field (29 of 58) for the game.
