DeShon Elliott Puts Jack Doyle On Notice After Cheap Shot On Tavon Young
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Count Baltimore Ravens safety DeShon Elliott among those who weren't fans of the cheap shot Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle took at Tavon Young late in Monday night's game.
"Jack Doyle don't let me see you again brah, don't disrespect Tay like that," Elliott tweeted Tuesday.
Elliott, who was inactive Monday, was referring to the moment Doyle pushed his teammate's helmet into the turf while getting to his feet following a play late in the fourth quarter. Young got up and retaliated by shoving Doyle, who sold the shove with a flop worthy of an Oscars nod.
Young was flagged for unnecessary roughness, resulting in a 15-yard penalty that gave Indianapolis a new set of downs with 18 seconds left in regulation. Fortunately for Baltimore, the Colts couldn't capitalize and the game went to overtime. And, well, you know the rest.
If Elliott's name rings a bell for Doyle, it's because it was the Ravens safety who knocked him out of the game with a jarring hit the last time the teams played each other. The tight end got a concussion and Elliott received a $4,200 fine.
Elliott wasn't the only one who took offense to Doyle's cheap shot, either. Ravens fans had a field day -- with one user calling him a "marked man" in Baltimore and others calling him a variety of names we probably shouldn't repeat here.
For his part, Young took the whole thing in stride and accepted responsibility for the penalty.
"Dumb penalty by me got to keep my cool that's on me, other than great win keep stacking and I love my team," Young tweeted, later adding: "Lol ya going crazy in my mentions Relax."
