It's A Purple Christmas In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- If you're doing some last-minute shopping Friday you have a lot of company. For many this Christmas will be purple.
Ron Matz reports on the frenzy in Ravens Country.
It's on at Poor Boys in Dundalk. Ravens fans scooped up anything purple. Fans picked up items like purple doghouses and Ravens slippers.
"We're buying a last-minute thing for our son. He loves the Ravens. We're getting him some Ravens slippers. He'll like them," said shoppers Judy and Brad Newlin.
Family members split up in teams as one person stood in line and the other person shopped. Even Bubba got in on the Christmas Eve frenzy.
Ravens spirit fingers are hot items this year.
"This whole week has been crazy. Instead of a White Christmas, we're going to have a Purple Christmas," said Mike Tyson of Poor Boys in Dundalk.
Ravens fans can't wait for Sunday's hard knocks.
"I'm doing some Christmas shopping. Can't go wrong with Ravens stuff. I'm buying someone a hoodie to keep them warm on game day," said Matt Jones.
It was busy too, at D.J. Liquidators.
"It's been crazy, last-minute hectic shopping. They're buying Ravens for gifts. We have all kinds of t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets. You name it, we have it," said Kathy Hipchin of DJ Liquidators said.
Purple Power to the max.
"We have all kinds of Ravens stuff. Women's jewelry, women's clothing, kids clothing-- just about everything you can imagine. People are buying last-minute gifts. I think we're going to stay open until eight o'clock tonight for last-minute shoppers," said Tyson.
The Ravens play the Browns Sunday at 1 p.m. You can see the game exclusively on WJZ-TV.
