It Doesn't Matter If They're Underdogs, The Ravens Are 'Mighty Men On A Mission'
NEW ORLEANS (WJZ) -- The Ravens were out on the Superdome turf for a final walk-through Saturday.
They will face the 49ers for the title, and as Mark Viviano reports, when that game kicks off Sunday, the Ravens will find themselves with a familiar label: underdogs.
They've overcome the odds to reach the Super Bowl, yet the odds-makers still consider the Ravens the underdog against San Francisco.
"We don't really care if we're underdogs or picked to win. We just know how we play and how confident we're playing right now and I think we enjoy it a little bit that we're underdogs," said Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.
The underdog label works for the Ravens. They weren't expected to win at Denver or New England.
"It doesn't matter what anybody says, what nobody does. If you're not connected to the Baltimore Ravens, if you're not in our locker room, if you're not walking on that field with us, nothing should affect us," linebacker Ray Lewis said.
"We're men on a mission, we're mighty men on a mission. Our focus is the job at hand," said Ravens safety James Ihedigbo. "We look at it as we haven't done anything yet. Only thing that matters is the game come Sunday and that's what we're preparing for. Yeah, we've had some success but that's not defining our season. What defines our season is being Super Bowl Champs."
