International Lecturer Grants 'Eternal Luck' To Kids With Cancer
BALTIMORE (WJZ) – The University of Maryland Medical Center is hosting a ceremonial presentation of 2,000 origami cranes from Japanese pediatric cancer patients on Tuesday afternoon.
Tina Allen, who teaches classes at the University of Maryland and is the founder and director of Liddle Kidz Foundation, is an internationally recognized pediatric massage teacher and lecturer, and she organized the event.
It's a tradition that if a person receives 1,000 cranes, they'll be granted eternal luck.
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and the ceremony illustrates international support for children diagnosed with cancer.
