Injury Report: Ravens Banged Up As They Make Trip To Indy
By Samuel Njoku
The Ravens will head on the road for the second time this season to battle against the Indianapolis Colts. Baltimore will do their best to take advantage of a weak offensive line that Indy will field on Sunday. But with key injuries along the Ravens defensive front, that may be easier said than done.
For starters, veteran defensive end Chris Canty failed to practice for the second straight week due to an illness and is listed as doubtful for the game. Though Canty didn't practice last week, he still played against the Panthers. It would be unwise to completely rule him out of this one until the game starts.
DT Timmy Jernigan (knee) and LB Terrell Suggs (groin) continue to deal with injuries that have plagued them for a couple of weeks. Jernigan is listed as doubtful and probably won't play while Suggs was limited in practice on Friday and will likely be a game-time decision.
On the offensive side of the ball, T Eugene Monroe is recovering from minor knee surgery and is still a few weeks away from returning to action. James Hurst replaced him last week and played well given it was his first NFL game. Baltimore hopes Hurst continues to protect Flacco's blindside effectively and keep this offense on the move.
Bernard Pierce was listed as probable last week but didn't see the field against Carolina. Pierce appears to be well enough to go and is again listed as probable. It'll be interesting to see if he sees the field or if the Ravens stick with the impressive Forsett and Taliaferro.
