Injury Report: Asa Jackson and Michael Campanaro Set To Return Against Dolphins
By Samuel Njoku
The Ravens were relatively healthy heading into their matchup against the San Diego Chargers. But Baltimore left that Chargers game with a few members of their team banged up. Now as they prepare for the Miami Dolphins, there are players who may not be available for their crucial AFC matchup.
Haloti Ngata may not be injured but he’s out for the rest of the regular season after being suspended 4 games for testing positive for PED’s. Now that the Pro Bowl defensive lineman will be unable to perform against Miami, the Ravens will have to turn to Timmy Jernigan to get the job done in his absence. Jernigan suffered a knee injury early in the season and missed 4 games. But since then he’s been a great player to come off the bench and relieve Ngata. Now he’s being asked to come in and compete with the Ravens season hanging in the balance.
Michael Campanaro is a player who has yet to see the field in quite some time due to a thigh injury he suffered early this season. He was close to returning last week against the Chargers, but there’s a good chance he’ll be ready to go this week against the Dolphins. Campanaro practiced fully this week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. His teammate Marlon Brown suffered a concussion last week but passed the concussion protocol and should be a go for Sunday’s game as well.
Another welcome sight to the field may be CB Asa Jackson who is currently on the injured reserve-designated to return list from a toe injury he suffered in Week 5. With the Ravens offense struggling mightily, Jackson’s return may be just what the doctor ordered for a defense searching for answers. Jackson didn’t appear on the injury report this week because he is technically not in the active roster, but there’s optimism from the defensive back.
“I’m making progress and I’m just trying to get right for Sunday,” Jackson told reporters.
