5 Students Hospitalized After School Bus Crash

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Rockville police say five elementary school students were taken to the hospital after their school bus hit another vehicle.

Police say 45 students were on the bus when the accident occurred about 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Police spokesman Maj. Bob Rappoport says the five students complained of neck and back injuries and the injuries were not life threatening.

Rappoport says the driver of a Jeep struck by the bus has been cited for failing to yield the right of way when making a left turn in front of the bus at an intersection. The police spokesman says both drivers were also hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the accident occurred on Great Falls Road.
