Ice Cream Truck Driver In Critical Condition After Shooting

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- A Fourth of July shooting in Prince George's County involved the driver of an ice cream truck.

Police say the driver was shot several times while parking his truck in an overnight storage lot. They say it was likely an attempted robbery.

The driver is currently listed in critical condition.

A fellow ice cream truck driver who uses the same lot says she believes the suspects followed the victim and shot him inside the truck.

Several of the truck drivers say they have expressed concern over the safety of the lot.

The name of the driver has not been released. Friends say he's an immigrant from Africa who has lived in the US for a long time.
